Rénoclimat is the province's main energy-efficiency retrofit program, and it's the most relevant to insulation upgrades. The program is built around an energy evaluation: a certified advisor performs a blower door test and home assessment before your work begins, and a second evaluation afterward measures the improvement.

Quebec homeowners need to keep one thing in mind: the pre-work energy evaluation must happen before any insulation work starts. If you begin the work first, you lose eligibility. As of mid-2026, Rénoclimat currently accepts new applications and has no planned end date.

If you're building a new home rather than renovating, the Novoclimat program provides financial assistance to the first owner of a home built to a high energy-efficiency standard. A Novoclimat home must be built by a Novoclimat-certified contractor, registered in the program before construction begins, and meet strict insulation, airtightness, and ventilation requirements that exceed the Quebec Construction Code.
Because Novoclimat certification covers the entire home and must be planned from the start of construction, it's mostly relevant if you're working with a builder on a new build. Hydro-Québec's LogisVert program offers rebates for energy-efficiency improvements, including insulation and air sealing:
To qualify for the LogisVert insulation rebate, the entire roof surface must be insulated, and both the insulation and the caulking portions of the measure must be completed. LogisVert also offers up to $6,700 toward a high-efficiency heat pump, which is a separate measure from insulation.
One note: you can't claim both LogisVert and Rénoclimat for the same work - there's no double-dipping on rebates! Many Quebec homeowners use Rénoclimat for insulation and envelope upgrades and LogisVert for a heat pump, so the two programs work together to maximize rebates rather than try to overlap.
